Items Discussed:
* At the Arnold Council meeting on January 25, two dates were cleared with Clarion
Inn, Friday October 20 and Friday, October 27. for a benefit dinner. Buddy Lee
will ask his Orchestra if they would be willing to play as a benefit for the
Costa Center. We will also contact Harold Betters and Joe Negri and ask if they
can play. The students were asked to make a ticket design for this event.
* Buddy Lee brought an information packet from Dom Flocker, who was a musician
and also the school board member concerning the Gershwin album of Johnny. Buddy,
as secretary of the Musicians Union, will also ask the union their feelings
about combining the Costa Center with a Hall of Fame for Musicians. Buddy said
there isn't any in our area. He will also research criteria for "fame" and rules
and standards to get inducted into a "Hall of Fame."
* T.Greco will ask John Mandak if he can design a Johnny Costa specialty piece
of candy to sell at the Center.
* Louis Palumbo gave a report on the documentary he is working on with Video
tech teacher, Mr. Leonardi. He interviewed the Mayor of Arnold recently and
took exterior videos of the Costa Center.
* Ms. Condelli, our Publicity Director, phoned the Rosie O'Donnell show to tell
them about our project. They requested a brief video outlining the project.
Ms. Condelli requested a brief video clip for next Monday so she could mail
it to Rosie O'Donnell.
* T.Greco will get a list of names, addresses, phone and email numbers of all
participants in the project to date and it will be available to anyone who wants
a copy at the next Music Monday meeting.
* Jen Pallone will write a letter to Deb Duncan explaining the Johnny Costa
team found her comments very helpful and we appreciate the time and consideration
she put into her editorial. We would like to invite her to a Music Monday meeting
if she can ever attend so we can meet her.
