Items Discussed:

* We gave a special welcome to Maria McCalister who attended our meeting today. She is in charge of spearheading
the fundraising for The Johnny Costa Center.

* Sara Brestensky gave an update of her work on the Johnny Costa Website. Pat Condelli brought us the “good news”
that Hugh Glenn purchased the site name www.johnnycosta.com and he will create a site but asks students to send along
their information. Thank you, Hugh!

* Pat Condelli read the e-mails from Hugh Glenn, the best friend of Johnny, and it gave the students real insight into
how special Johnny was.

* Buddy Lee, Secretary of the New Kensington Musical Society, (Musicians Union) gave a report on the Hall of Fame
in Beaver Falls, PA where Henry Mancini is honored. They will send Buddy the guidelines on how they choose their
honorees. Buddy will have the President of the Musicians Union send a letter to us saying that they endorse
The Johnny Costa project and will support it.

* We discussed some names for the center and decided to put a request in the paper for ideas for naming the center
from the public. This will also provide added publicity. Some names we discussed after the title The Johnny Costa
Center, Hall of Fame for Musicians, Hall of Fame for the Arts, Cultural Center for the Community, Hall of Fame
for Performing Arts.

* John Mandak suggested we have a photo shoot of the three mayors and a write up on Gina Datres with the unveiling
of the new Johnny Costa logo. Thelma will contact Mayor Kinosz of Lower Burrell and John will contact Gina to find
the best time to take this photo. This will emphasize the total community involvement in our effort. (John Mandak will
also call the architects to ask them when the architect’s rendition of the center will be ready.)

* Pat Condelli will design a Johnny Costa tri-fold brochure to pass out with our display to ask for community support.
She will also put an announcement in the Stroller to invite the public to attend Music Monday Meetings. Our
“Cookie Queen” will also whip up an original johnnycostacake recipe which has rum, figs and dates in it (Johnny’s
favorite things) .

* We would like to set up, if possible, a Johnny Costa Center benefit Performance, with special guest star, Peter Nero,
a year from now.

* Mark your calendar for the next two Music Mondays on MONDAY FEBRUARY 14 and 28, 2000 in room 211
from 1:00-3:00. Everyone will report on their progress and new developments. (Feb. 21-NO SCHOOL.)
